Media Analysis and Research Center is a non – profit collective of Academicians, Researchers and Communication Experts. The committed ISO – 9001: 2015 certified research cum advocacy organisation was registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882 on March 25, 2008. We are part of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) since April 17, 2017. The civil society organisation is registered with NITI Ayog’s NGO Darpan.

The story begins in 2002. Young talents who were the journalism students taught by Dr. Ratheesh Kaliyadan developed a manuscript of “Nattarangu”, compiling articles regarding the folk feasts of Koyilandy Taluk. The articles were an output of class room processes based on critical pedagogy. Considering the requests of his students, Dr. Kaliyadan initiated to publish the book under the banner Journalism Academicians Institute. The banner became a point of discussion after some annual publications. Since it was not a registered entity, Dr. Kaliyadan decided to found a registered research cum advocacy organisation amalgamating its mother organisation Journalism Academicians Institute. Thus Media Analysis and Research Center opened its eyes as a Research cum Advocacy organisation.

Since Dr. Kaliyadan took charge as a government servant in June 2009, Dr. Kaliyadan quit the Media Analysis and Research Center and handed over all charges to the next generation team. The Media Analysis and Research Center continued its activities under a new team of enthusiasts.

Studies by the Media Analysis and Research Center gained attention of the government and led to policy decisions. We are associating with several Government / Quasi Government / Local Self Government organisations / agencies including Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
