Purpose

The purpose of this Anti-Fraud Policy is to prevent, detect, and respond to fraud and corruption, ensuring that the Media Analysis and Research Center (MARC) resources are used efficiently and effectively.

Scope

This policy applies to all MARC employees, consultants, contractors, partners, and stakeholders.
Definitions

  • Fraud: Intentional deception or misrepresentation to obtain unauthorized benefits or advantages.
  • Corruption: Abuse of power or position for personal gain or benefit.
Policy
  1. MARC has a zero-tolerance approach to fraud and corruption.
  2.  MARC operations shall be transparent, with clear and accountable decision-making processes.
  3. All MARC employees, consultants, contractors, partners, and stakeholders shall be accountable for their actions and decisions.
Reporting

Reporting Mechanisms
MARC encourages all employees, consultants, contractors, partners, and stakeholders to report any suspected fraud or corruption.

Reporting Channels

Reports can be made through the following channels:

  1. Anonymous Reporting: MARC has an anonymous reporting system in place, which allows individuals to report suspected fraud or corruption without revealing their identity.
  2.  Email: Reports can be sent to the designated email address: marckerala@gmail.com / antifraud@mediafolk.in
  3. Phone: Reports can be made by calling the designated phone number: +91 7624962294
  4. In-Person: Reports can be made in-person to the secretary or any member of the management team.
Reporting Requirements

When making a report, please provide as much detail as possible, including:

  1. Description of the incident: A clear description of the suspected fraud or corruption.
  2. Date and time: The date and time of the incident.
  3. Location: The location where the incident occurred.
  4. Individuals involved: The names and positions of individuals involved.
  5. Any supporting evidence: Any supporting documentation or evidence.
Confidentiality and Protection

MARC ensures that all reports are treated confidentially and that the identity of the reporter is protected. MARC also ensures that no retaliatory action is taken against anyone who makes a report in good faith.

Training

All employees will receive training on recognizing and preventing fraud during their onboarding process and annually thereafter. This training will cover:

  • Recognizing the warning signs of fraud
  • Understanding the consequences of fraudulent behavior
  • Knowing how to report suspected fraud
  • Understanding the importance of compliance with this anti-fraud policy
Compliance

Failure to comply with this anti-fraud policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination. All employees are expected to adhere to the principles and procedures outlined in this policy.
